Day 49

I am 7 weeks post-op today!

My boyfriend and I went hiking yesterday, and I took a few pictures. My hair was a mess, it was 93 degrees out and I was dying.

    Hi Dani,

I came accross you blog a few days ago when hunting for jaw surgery info. It's been really informative, especially as I've got the same kind of underdeveloped jaw that you had. By the way, your pictures post sugery look fanastic - what a great result! I'm due to go in for a BSSO and genioplasty in four days time and am really nervous, but excited at the same time. I was reading one of your older posts titled 'tired', and it really rung a bell with me. When I sleep my jaw slips way back to it's natural recessed position, and I'm sure that this affects my breathing at night, as I never seem to get enough sleep, even after 12 hours, I also sometimes wake up feeling like I've been holding my breath. I was wandering if you've had any more thoughts on this issue post op? I'm guessing it's hard to tell as the healing involved in recovery will also probably make you tired, but it would be cool to see if fixing your jaw also fixed nightime breathing issues, or has made a difference to tiredness in general.

I'll be following your blog to see how you get on with recovery, as well as reading some of your posts from surgery time to prepare myself mentally! Good luck and all the best,

I have the same problem with breathing, especially when I'm asleep. Does it get better? I am really hoping so. And I want to thank you for documenting everything about the surgery and the process too, it helps so much. Your results are so amazing, I just hope you feel as good as you look!
