I am counting down the days until I get my splint and surgical hooks off. But each day closer to that is one less day of my summer vacation, so it's kind of a tough trade off. I think I am putting too much emphasis on the future, and not enough emphasis on the here and now. It's difficult though. I should be focusing on enjoying my summer all the time, but a lot of the time I find myself thinking 'I can't wait for 2 weeks from now!' Every time I say something like that, I need to remind myself it's just the same as saying "I can't wait to be two weeks closer to going back to school!"... That outta fix me from getting too excited about the future :-P
I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with a group of friends last night, and it was so great to get out! I did eat bits and pieces of my boyfriends bbq wings, but I just ordered a basket of cheesy potato wedges; easy to eat and filling! I also had some of a friends spinach artichoke flatbread. I wouldn't say it was the most attractive thing to eat, there was a lot of sauce and cheese on it, and tearing it with my hands and putting pieces in my mouth probably didn't look great, but no one really paid any attention and the food was delicious so I don't really care :)
What are some of your favorite, easy things to eat right now? Any healthy food suggestions? I have been eating a lot of eggs and yogurt+fruit, but I also find myself going to things like pizza, hotdogs and chicken nuggets because I have the ability to eat them now, even though I shouldn't be (at least not TOO often). I am looking to replace some of these unhealthy options with healthier options, but I need some suggestions! My normal go-to, spinach salad, is not an option anymore!
My momma is back, and therefore my pictures won't be so shotty anymore :)

Hi Dani, I haven't had the internet for a few days so have just been catching up on your blog, and your most recent post is what came up first so I saw these pics straight away, and I 'wow'ed at the improvement since I last looked at your blog! Because I haven't seen it for a few days I could really notice the difference. Your swelling seems to have gone down even more and your jawline is looking more defined! You look prettier with every post :) You said in another post that you thought your chin looked big, but it really doesn't at all! I would never ever have thought that looking at your photos! Your new profile looks so pretty, I'm very jealous!

Last night my lips were able to fully touch with not much strain, but this morning they are packed to being puffy again :( so annoying.
I love pasta at the moment. It's so easy and you can add anything to fill it out and make it healthy. Chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon, ham, avocado or spinach. I also have been eating eggs either scrambled, poached or an omelet. I had a fish fillet with veggies and mash potato/gravy last night. Was very Yum and pretty healthy.
I am eating pretty much anything as long as it semi soft and easy to cut up small. For dessert, I stew fruit and have it warm with ice-cream, yogurt, rice pudding or jelly.

Hey Dani,
Your progress looks really good and for Day 27 you are doing great. You still have your splint in and can do pizza, hotdogs, pieces of wings? What a trooper. When I had my splint in, so much food got caught in there, and biting was really difficult that I just stuck to liquids.

I have gained so much weight now that I can eat! Bad girl! I have no healthy options, I've been a pig! :-)

Dani,
Im vegetarian so Im no good with healthy meat options, but I eat sweet potatoes, (peeled, cubed and boiled) not baked with skin on. I smash up an avacado, tomato and a bit of hummus. I also add quinoa to healthy soups. I Bought some great Amys organics soups that are filling and healthy. I cook steel cut oats and sweeten it with organic unsweetened applesauce and top with blueberries. Most veggies steamed and eaten with brown rice is great. I have also made a great tomato and avocado sandwich with hummus. Just thoughts. You are looking great. I have been able to rub my lips together for a couple of weeks! Its a brilliant milestone and one that you will get to soon I promise.
It's hard to not look forward to the 2 weeks that always hold promise. I still find myself doing the same thing.
Your looking so great! Getting that splint off will be a whole new level of freedom for you. I was lucky to not have one. I can only imagine the frustration. Hang in there!!
