The tray is similar to my retainer, but is a much for flexible plastic and can pretty much be rolled into a ball without doing any damage to it. I am to wear it a MINIMUM of 2 hours a day, and the whitening stuff will become ineffective after about 6 hours. The only issue this presents is this is less time I will be wearing my retainer. Also, I am hungry pretty much all day long, I am a constant snacker, so having to wear this for multiple hours in a row kind of hinders on my snacking ability :)
The dentist said it may take one week, it may take two, it just depends on how consistent I am with using the tray. Right now, my tooth is something like 5 shades darker than the rest of the teeth.. uhh. Here's to praying this treatment works and that I don't have to get a veneer!

Can't you wear the trays at night? That's what my dentist said! Oh but I guess you would have to wear the retainer at night too. Hmmm
Did you get a bonded retainer on the inside of your teeth? It's like a very small piece of wire that is glued on and is unnoticeable but permanent! I am getting one for my bottom teeth and having the retainer for my top which I only have to wear at night apparently for 6 months! I think I'll be popping it in during the day when I'm home for extra reassurance thought :)
Look forward to seeing the whitening results!

Rhianna,
Yes I can wear it at night, but I am not supposed to go a whole night without my retainer, so I won't be able to do the trays at night. It's just extra time out of my retainer that I would like to be wearing it. But it's only for a couple of weeks so it should be fine! Yes I have a retainer glued in on the bottom, and the upper I just have a clear plastic one.

Hi Dani,
Did you drink coffee a lot when you had your braces on? I've had braces for 10 months now and I love coffee. I'm concerned that if I drink my coffee every day, then my teeth will become discolored but leave a white mark where my bracket is. Your teeth look great! I hope the whitening works for your tooth!

nmerrill - I drank coffee every single day, and I had no issues pertaining to that! My tooth started becoming discolored in HS due to some trauma done to the tooth (when that happened, I have no idea) but I have never really had any issues with coffee causing white spots where the brackets were placed! I am sure it stains my teeth to a certain degree, but nothing super noticeable, and definitely no spots where the brackets were placed.
