Look who it is :)
AMANDA! from Braceface: The Sequel
Amanda is a fellow surgery blogger who I've been in contact with through most of my journey. She reached out to me upon hearing that I was moving to LA, and even tried to help me with finding a job :) We only live a few miles from one another, so we decided to meet up for lunch in Santa Monica a couple weeks ago.
It was SO much fun to meet her and catch up on each other's journeys. Amanda hasn't had surgery yet, so I was able to tell her a bit more about surgery day and the recovery that she will be facing.
It really is amazing how much the blogger community has improved my life. I had so many supporters through my surgery, and now I am lucky to have Amanda as a friend outside of blogging.

That's awesome you two got to meet and that you live so close by! It's hard moving to a place where you don't know many people or have any friends. I did it after I graduated college, moving from Indiana to Colorado. I loved it out there, skiing most weekends during the season and I had a great job. But establishing real friendships always takes time, as you mentioned before, putting in the work to get to know someone requires a lot of "introductory" type conversations. This is great that you and Amanada already know so much about each other from the blogger world and can bypass a lot of those conversations :-)

Awww...you two are adorable! It's great to have friends who know exactly what you are going through!

how cute. I've also befriended someone I met through my blog who lives close to me. We've gone to dinner twice and she shared all her stories with me so I knew what to expect. It's so cool to talk to someone who knows what you're feeling.
Smiles,
Nichole

Ladies, you know you were all with us in spirit and definitely in conversation. It was like getting together and talking about what all our friends are up to... "Tara is having to get her metal removed"... "can you believe what's going on with Canadian Terra!"... "how did Cece do this twice!"... Lol.
xoxo.

I think that's great you two met up to discuss your adventures regarding orthognathics. I'm should be surgery ready in the next few months and am hopefully going to be getting everything done this summer. I work in Santa Monica; where in LA are you located???
