MERRY CHRISTMAS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS !!

He was obviously not interested in snuggles from his Auntie.

Christmas Flashback -- Last Year (prior to surgery!)

Crazy, huh? I don't even recognize myself! and Jacks is a tiny bebe!
Seriously. I used to think I looked good in some of these pictures. The last one with me in the dress was from my uncle's wedding the day before xmas eve. I liked it enough to make it my Facebook profile picture. Yeah..

I got so many awesome gifts this year!
Remember when you were younger and you'd get socks for Christmas and you'd be all bummed, as if someone would think you'd actually like socks?
NOT THIS YEAR. I got ELEVEN new pairs. and you should have seen my face. LOVE socks.
I got luggage. Oh, how much I love luggage. I love to travel and my old suitcase arrived back from Australia with a massive hole in it, one broken wheel and one missing wheel.
I got dark greenish luggage that has FOUR WHEELS. I am going to be so efficient in the airport now.
I got the Justin Bieber Christmas album. My family knows the way to my heart.
and SPORTS BRAS. I really love things that I can actually use. Sports bras are so expensive. All workout clothes are so expensive. and I hate spending money on that kind of stuff myself. Super awesome gift.
Starbucks/Caribou gift cards. I know people think gift cards are not a very thoughtful gift, but I will love you forever if you get me a giftcard to a coffee shop. You save me from the guilt of spending my own money, and that's an awesome thing.

What did YOU guys get? Anything super exciting? Anything as exciting as SOCKS? :)
Please share!

Looking good Dani! I've yet to even get my braces yet, I've still fighting my insurance to cover more of my surgery. I'll probably end up paying most of it out of pocket.

Btw, how's your lip closure? Is there any strain and do you still have a small gap at rest?

Hi Dani! I've got so used to your new face that I forgot what you used to look like. When I've just looked at these pictures it's made me realise what a difference the surgery has made...definitely a good difference! It makes me soooo excited for my surgery as I see so many aspects of my face in your pre-op pictures! I just hope my result is as good as yours!

Rob: No strain at all, but there is definitely a small gap at rest! I used to be upset about it, because I wanted my lips to touch, but they are SO close and apparently a small gap is very normal! It takes zero effort to have my lips touch.

Sarah: I am SO excited for your surgery too! I cannot wait to see the results!

Dani - these pics are awesome! You look great and so does your smile!! I can't get over the before and after differences! While you were cute before I think you look stunning now! My changes are going to be much subtler than yours I can already see my old face emerging as the swelling continues to go down. I can't wait to be able to fully smile so I can see what it will look like as that and my profile are the only changes I think I will really notice when everything settles into place. How long was it before you could smile fully without any restrictions? I know you had swelling in your lip for awhile so that might have made it a slower process for you, no? You look great! Just wanted to stop by and say "hello!" Good luck out in CA and by the way I'm very very sorry to hear about Pineapple. She was really cute and looked like she made a great pet. I hope you had a great New Year and looking forward to life after college!

p.s. Dani - your smile in these before pics don't really look gummy to me. Were you "posing" for the camera in those shots? I recall you had your upper jaw impacted, no? Do you remember by how much/mm's?

Hi Dani, I'm so sorry about Pineapple. Wish I knew what to say to make you feel a little better ♥
I've been reading your blog for a while and it's very inspirational! I'm starting my journey in a couple of months and I think I would be scared sh*tless if it werent for yours and the rest of the ortho-bloggers stories.
